Octopod robots is the definition of a lightweight of walking platform with eight legs or arthropod like robot – spiders, scorpion, ticks, etc. The octopod robot can be able to integrate a high speed and stable platform in unknown space suitable to perform tasks in unstructured terrains.
The design is based in modular parts of aluminium profiles. This walking platform can useful for various applications such as academic exploration, search and rescue missions, animatronics, etc. The legs features are designed with three degree of freedom. This enables the robot to biomimetic various gait walking patterns.
