The aluminum X-8 coaxial octocopter represents a rugged, highly modular approach to custom drone design. Measuring arround 500mm diagonally from motor to motor hub; this platform utilizes a custom-fabricated aluminium chassis instead of standard molded polyamide or carbon fiber plates.

The coaxial octocopter is assembled with eight 3115 brushless motors, a 6S LiPo battery, and a speedbee flight controller with two integrated ESCs mounted inside the aluminum frame. This aluminum profile frame and motors setup can handle a payload of around 2 kg and offers an efficient thermal heatsink. The frame is coated with electrostatic paint to prevent short circuits and is isolated using several soft silicone dampening pads to minimize vibrations reaching the flight controller.
