The omni-ball mechanism is a circular cross-section as active and rolling spheres. Conventional omni wheels robots can support heavy loads, but cannot be control its motion and position precisely.

The locomotion platform usually moves like the conventional omni-wheels robots, and it moves in narrow spaces. The mechanisms have the advantage to produces also sideling motion in flat surface; but it is not suitable to climbing large obstacles.
